Q. How do I change the registrant for a .ca domain already registered with TOS?

A. When a .CA domain is originally registered, a Registrant Account is created at CIRA, the CA registry. With the exception of the Administrative contact, the Registrant Name on the account is permanent and cannot be changed after your initial approval and acceptance of their terms. Other contact information, can be updated via a support ticket.

Likewise, if you have sold a .ca domain and need to change the registered owner information, CIRA requires you to initiate a transfer of the domain. This is known as a registrant to registrant transfer. This type of transfer can be done to any account including the account that currently has the domain. Open a helpdesk ticket and provide the domain name, the contact info (new registrant information) and let them know you want an 'internal transfer' of the domain name.
